Testing

RS/DW has undergone rigorous testing with superior results surpassing all standards. For testing rust inhibitors, the toughest, most reliable weathering test in the industry that a coating can undergo is the salt spray (fog) test.

The salt spray (fog) test is a standardized, accelerated corrosion test method used to check the corrosion resistance of coated samples. Rust is evaluated after being subjected to salt (fog) spray. The more corrosion resistant the coating, the longer the testing time period without showing signs of rust.

Sherwin Williams subjected RS/DW to the rigors of the salt fog test to challenge the claims of RS/DW’s unparalleled corrosion resistance. After 2,000 hours, Sherwin Williams discontinued the test finding no rust.

The South Africa Bureau of Standards discontinued its test after 2,880 hours finding no rust. These tests demonstrate more than 20 – 25 years of real life experience.

RS/DW surpasses all standards for corrosion resistant products in its class as demonstrated by neutral third parties.
